In keeping with our commitment to supporting high-performing girls, and in recognition of the extraordinary potential of girls to succeed in STEM, particularly, girls who otherwise would not have an opportunity to receive a high-quality education, we have created the STEM Bridge Scholarship for Girls. This scholarship program focuses on girls who come from a disadvantaged background, who show strong academic performance, and who demonstrate a passion for STEM.

Eligibility Requirements


Female

Currently attending Junior High School (JSS3/Grade 9) and will be planning to enroll in Senior High School(SSS1/Grade 10) in the upcoming school year

Must demonstrate financial need

Must have a cumulative grade of 80% or equivalent on another scale

Application Process


The application cycle will open February 1st, 2023 and close March 19th, 2023. Winners will be announced mid-July

Applicants will be required to fill out a general application form

Applicants will have the option to submit 1 letter of recommendation

Applicants will be required to submit their transcript

Applicants will be required to submit a 1-minute video response. This is our chance to get to know you better

Short-listed applicants will be required to undergo an interview with their parents

Application Process

Applicants will be required to submit a 1-minute video response. This is our chance to get to know you better

Award


The recipient will be awarded $3,500 over the course of 3 years, to assist with tuition. $1250 for the first year, $1000 for the second year and $1250 for the third year

The recipient will be given a book award of $100, for uniforms, books and school materials

The recipient will be provided with a brand new laptop

The recipient will gain access to career support and mentorship from STEM Bridge

This award is contingent on the student remaining a “science student” as defined by the school

Selection Criteria


Applications will be reviewed by independent reviewers who will be a part of a scholarship selection committee

Scholarship recipient will be selected based on financial need and academic merit
